As a Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Partner for wireless communications and computing equipment, Samsung Electronics has worked closely with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and International Paralympic Committee (IPC) for several years to help athletes better connect and communicate with their families and fans.

Yet, behind the packed stadiums and world-class competitions sits a task force of staff and volunteers working around the clock to ensure that Games-time operations run smoothly.

Paris 2024 organizers utilized nearly 15,000 Galaxy devices — including more than 7,100 Galaxy smartphones, over 2,500 Galaxy Tab series tablets and 5,200 Galaxy Book series laptops — to support its task force across the IOC, Organising Committees for the Olympic Games (OCOG), Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS) and International Federations. From managing ticketing systems and stadium entry to facilitating event broadcasts, Galaxy devices have been used by staff or volunteer to deliver efficient and seamless operations throughout the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024.

“Behind the scenes, the pace at which we have to work and the level of coordination required is unprecedented — especially when you consider the international nature of the Olympic and Paralympic Games,” said Bruno Marie-Rose, Director of Technology and Information Systems at the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024. “We are reliant on the technology we’re using to ensure operations run smoothly. A homogenous system of Galaxy devices allows our teams to support visitor inquiries and complete operational requests more efficiently and effectively, helping us deliver the best Games-time experience.”

“The latest additions to our Galaxy ecosystem take productivity and connectivity to the next level. Having Galaxy innovations recognized by the IOC is an honor,” said Stephanie Choi, EVP & Head of Marketing, Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics. “The Olympic and Paralympic Games are not only some of the world’s most prestigious events, but they are also some of the most complex to manage. With our partners, we’re proud to provide best-in-class mobile technology for the Olympics and Paralympic Games Paris 2024 organizers and fans.”
